Why Did He Stop Texting Me?

Silence leaves you guessing. Four questions about how it happened will narrow it down to the most likely reason, and what to do about it.

Step 1 of 5

How long have you known each other?

The four most common reasons

Something on his side. Work, stress, family or a low mood. The silence comes out of nowhere, after a normal conversation.

He got scared. The conversation was great, maybe too close too fast, and he pulled back to catch his breath.

He does not know how to answer. You shared your feelings and he either does not feel the same or does not know what he feels.

He chose distance. He disappeared completely and does not explain. That is a decision, even if he never says it.

What to do now

If the silence is new, one short, easy message is fine: something that does not demand an explanation. If he reads it and stays quiet, stop there. Sending more rarely brings someone back, and it costs you more than it costs him.

The hardest part is not knowing. Setting yourself a limit, a week or two, and deciding in advance what you will do after it, gives you back some control over a situation that otherwise belongs entirely to him.

What your couple matrix adds

With both birth dates, the result shows the core of your couple and its shared lesson. If going quiet is a pattern between you, it is often visible there: the same kind of distance that keeps coming back until one of you names it.

Questions

Why did he stop texting me all of a sudden?

The most common reasons are on his side: stress, a busy stretch, fear of getting closer, or not knowing how to say he is not interested. What happened just before the silence usually points to which one it is.

Should I text him first?

One light message is fine, especially if the silence came out of nowhere. If he reads it and does not reply, that is your answer for now, and sending more rarely helps.

How long should I wait for him to text back?

A few days of silence is normal for many people. After two or three weeks with no reply, it is healthier to stop waiting and let him come back to you if he wants to.

He stopped texting but still watches my stories. What does it mean?

He wants to keep you in view without the commitment of a conversation. It shows interest, but not enough to act on it.
